Hello Baraboo, Oxford and Mauston Qigong practitioners,
I can’t believe how cold it is today. Last Saturday I was sitting outside, enjoying the sun, talking about gardening and bicycling. Today I am hunkered down inside reading bicycling magazines when I would much rather be riding.
Here’s a few updates I want to share with you.
Mauston practice group - Going forward the Thursday evening practice group will meet from 5:30 – 6:30pm. This Thursday, May 4th we will have a guest teacher. Andrew Deppe, one of our Mauston practice group members, will lead us through a qigong practice he does based on the 5 Elements. Andrew is a good friend and has been teaching and practicing qigong for many years. I look forward to experiencing this qigong style.
The “For Women Only Qigong” practice group in Mauston is growing. There’s a lot more laughter in that practice group than there is in the other groups. It might have something to do with the fact that we walk like Cranes, thump our heels and walk backwards all while pulling in the muscles that support our bladder.
Baraboo practice group – I have set the intention of one day soon having 20 people at practice. So far the most we’ve had on one day is 19. Who do you know that would benefit from practicing Qigong with us? Please invite them. If money is a concern for the person you want to invite, let me know and I will give you a card for a free class that you can give them.
Oxford practice group – You all have a special place in my heart because this is where it all began for me. Some of these people have been with me since I began teaching qigong. This is the group that I try new qigong movements on before introducing them to the other practice groups. They are brutally but lovingly honest with their opinions.
As most of you know, I am leaving my part time job at Kohl’s. It’s been fun but it’s time to move on to other adventures. This morning I was thinking of ways to cut back a bit on expenses and while I was making copies of a handout for all of you, it dawned on me that this is a place to start. So, in the future I will email you any new handouts I create. You can decide to print them or just save them on your computer. I know that we are just talking about small change here but small change adds up to paper money, which then becomes new bicycle accessories.
One bit of shameless commerce (remember when the Tappett Bros - Click and Clack would say that on Car Talk? Gosh I miss those guys) before I go – please take a look at my website, I’ve become an affiliate for some products that I use and like. If you click from my site to the company’s site and make a purchase I earn a little money. No pressure - just sharing.
